I am a nurse, coach and writer with a mission to create a million happynurses!
I have been a nurse since 1985 and have worked in adult care, paediatrics, acute, community and for an agency.
When I was feeling particularly fed up I bought a Life Coaching book, and my sister, Emma, and I worked through it together. It helped clarify what I did, and didn't want in my life, and in 2000 I decided to give up full-time work and discover who I was outside my job. I travelled to Australia and New Zealand, met loads of great people, skydived, snorkelled, walked across Sydney Harbour Bridge and had the time of my life!
I returned to agency nursing, and spent a year at college studying Performing Arts, sang in a band, did 'stand-up' comedy and improvisation, learned and laughed.
I was still fascinated by coaching and personal development, and trained as a Life Coach, with the Coaching Academy. I returned to nursing two years ago, when I realised I really missed the teamwork, sense of achievement and using my skills to help and nurture others.
I now combine coaching, nursing and writing for the 'Personal Development' section of the Royal College of Nursing website's learning zone, as well as coaching and communication articles for nursing journals.
I am fun, creative, intelligent, challenging, open, moody, stubborn, musical, bright, quick, and a great motivator and coach!
I have resigend from the 'day job' in order to grow the happynurses vision big and bold!

I love movies, reading, comedy, being out and about with friends and family, eating healthy, delicious food and laughing.
