Another exciting day in happynurses land! I got my business cards through and they are wonderful - colourful, fun and informative.

I had a coffee with a guy who is also a coach but in a different sphere, so was able to exchange ideas and visions for our businesses which was great.

I had a meeting with my PA-to-be (when I can afford her!) about my Nick Williams day in February that she is helping me to organise.

I went for a run/walk and ran further than before - I also feel less of a ninny now my body has realised that I am really breaking into a jog and it's not all a mistake!

I have received info re my audio products which are currently being edited.

I really feel that the momentum has built to a lovely point of everything coming together, others taking on some of the work as well as receiving daily ideas from others, and links being established with global providers of personal development/ coaching/ training/ wealth.

You lucky happynurses - it's going to be reeeeeally good!

The universe

I have been reading some great books recently, including this week 'The Attractor factor' by Joe Vitale, and at the same time trying to write my marketing plan for happynurses.

I had a breakthrough with my new coach last week, and then read all about it in the book above this week. Hhmmmm.....

When I tried to formalise my plan, write it as a chart or set specific targets, as recommended in lots of marketing books, I felt huge resistance. I knew I would take action. I am deeply committed to the happynurses vision, but something was not right.

What I realised in my coaching session is that I want to set an intention and work with that. So my intention is 'to tell as many nurses as I feel like telling about happynurses, and give them something of value'.

So this might mean 2 nurses this week, or I might go to the RCN and try to reach 400,000. It is up to me, and I can follow my feelings and intuition on this.

Amazing!

Negativity

Last night I went for some cultural and intellectual stimulation, as part of the Cheltenham Literature festival. I went to hear Oliver James talk about his book 'Affluenza'.

I haven't read the book but went along anyway, and Mary and I left, with me not being at all sure whether I had enjoyed myself or not. I was slightly mystified by his references to other economists and psychologists and his use of complex terms that I had never heard of.

He was basically making the point that money doesn't make us happy, that the economies of the western world are making people unhappy through everyone competing with others in looks, status, possessions and fame. He highlighted the excessive numbers of people who now had depression, anxiety, and substance abuse issues, which increased in the wealthiest parts of the population.

He didn't seem to have met any of the people I meet in my life - those with jobs and businesses they love, with strong family ties, plenty of income, and a desire to contribute and give back, not keep all the money for themselves. He was dismissive of the 'Positive Psychology' movement as not being scientific enough, but I find most ordinary people are not as concerned with science as scientists.

They just want to feel better/ happier/ more loved.

What did I learn from this? I am not arguing with his research, but.....

You see what you focus on - look for creative, happy, wealthy people, or alcoholic, lonely, rich, sad individuals and guess what - there they are!

Focus on your needs, not your 'wants'.

These are, according to psychologists:

• security - financial and emotional
• to feel part of a community
• to feel effective
• authenticity/ autonomy

Oh, look, my business and social life gives me all of them - well I never!

He should have come to the Money Gym day on Friday and been surrounded by wonderful, clever, women all eager to learn and grow. Anyway, I would never trust a man who was speaking in front of a theatre full of people wearing pink corduroy trousers and pastie shoes - make an effort, Oliver!

Wowee! What a weekend!

I have spent the weekend in a Christopher Howard seminar in London with 4000 people clapping, singing, dancing, hugging, learning, changing, talking and laughing! This would be some people´s idea of hell but I love it! I was disappointed not to be one to get on stage to dance (it was too full) but had an amazing time and met some great people, and came out changed and motivated yet much calmer (which was one of the things I had been working on over the 3 days).

I have now signed up for more seminars and coaching to add to my increasing skills set and am really looking forward to an amazing year of learning, growth, meeting new people, travel, getting the Happynurses business set up and developing all areas of my life to create the truly abundant life I deserve.

It is quite amazing that my feelings and thoughts are much more positive and focussed this week. Now I have made a decision, and shared it wth those I love it has given me confidence and hope. I have found this to be true with all my 'projects' and those of my clients.

Admitting what it is you want, and being open to change, are vital. If you don't know what you want, or are pretending all is fine when it isn't it, makes life tough and difficult. Be courageous and speak up about what you DO want, instead of complaining about what you DON'T. Then others can help, support and even join you on your journey........

I had my second singing lesson today and was (of course) given an old a love song to study. My tutor asked me to explain what I thought it was about and how I felt I should put intonation and dynamics in to give it feeling. A month ago I would probably have been mortified to have to talk about this stuff (loooooove!) but now I am open to it, it felt great. So, even my singing lessons are helping me to open up.

I have running water now so can have a shower, and have spent 2 blissful hours in the park in the sun, reading and watching guys through my sunglasses! All very innocent, honest!

Being abundant

Yesterday I spent the afternoon in a workshop, learning about the 'Law of Attraction'. This is not a new concept for me but being in a room with other women and discussing some of the points of 'The Secret' was a new experience.

So was a revelation I have made this week. I realise that I use the law in my business, networking, friendships and it is all working remarkably well. However ,I have a great big blank in the area of a one-on-one relationship with a wonderful man. I came to the realisation that I just don't think it will happen. I read out a piece of writing that I had done the previous day to my friends, and it sounded great to them and to me reading it! It was an interview with Oprah about happynurses success and my life, set in 5 years time.

I had a man and two children in that vision, so I need to really start to believe and take action to make it happen. We also drew pictures of our ideal future yesterday in the workshop, but unlike the one I did 3 weeks ago in another seminar, it had me as part of a happy family right in the middle!

I came back to my flat with Eileen, and looked around at where I live. It is beautiful, colourful, full of photos of my family and pictures of the coast, framed pictures of my future dreams and wishes, but not really anything that suggests a relationship with a man, so I am looking for things to fill the gap!
